Back

How much does it cost to be a Member?

Back

Membership of The GE Club places you under no obligation. You can have as much or as little involvement as you like – that’s up to you.

Back

How can you afford to offer a free membership in the first year?

The offer of free membership is an incentive for you to join The GE Club and we hope that you will become involved in one or more of the offers or events during the course of the year.

Back

How is The GE Club funded?

Revenue is derived from three areas

  • Fees charged to Members for networking events that they attend
  • Commissions received from event organisers
  • Commission from businesses seeking funding to whom we introduce Members

Back

How does The GE Club benefit from my becoming a Member?

The GE Club relies on involvement of Members such as yourself in order to make networking and other events more interesting and rewarding for all the Members. In addition we rely on an interesting and diverse cross section of Members where it comes to funding businesses that The GE Club has approved.

Why do I need to be either a High Net Worth Individual or a Sophisticated Investor?

In addition to organising events and lifestyle opportunities, The GE Club offers its Members the opportunity to invest in interesting companies. UK financial services regulation only allows us to issue financial promotions to UK individuals who are over eighteen and have certified that they are a HNWI or SI. It is therefore a legal requirement.

Back

Can my company join?

No. Membership is only available to UK resident individuals.

Back

Are any of my details passed on to other companies?

No. We do not share your details with any other companies or organisations. All offers will be made directly to you from the Club or a Club Executive. In addition bear in mind that we will never ask for details of your financial circumstances.

Back

Will I get bombarded with emails from The GE Club?

We will try to limit communication with you to areas in which you have expressed an interest provided you and your Club Executive have discussed your likes and dislikes. It is not our policy to send out hundreds of unnecessary emails to Members and we would encourage you to visit the Members’ section of the website often to obtain information about Club activity.

Back

How often will I be contacted by The GE Club and through what medium?

Your GE Club Executive will contact you periodically with details of offers in areas in which the Club believe you may be interested.

Back

How often do Members get together?

To a certain extent this depends on how many events that each Member attends. Members will get together at networking and sporting/social events and therefore you can be as much or as little involved as you like.

Back

Who attends the networking events?

All Members are entitled to attend networking events.

Back

Do you run a concierge service and if so does it run 24hrs a day?

The GE Club is not a concierge service in the traditional sense of the word in as much as you are not required to pay an annual membership fee in return for 24 hour access to personal shoppers and travel organisers. However we do have access to exclusive events and preferred rates at some of the World’s finest establishments so if you have a requirement then it is worth asking us.

What is EIS?

How are the investment opportunities chosen and how do I take advantage of them?

Investment opportunities are presented to us by a number of strategic partners. It’s a proven fact that exercising thorough due diligence is indicative of more profitable returns and therefore we will go through an extensive checklist before agreeing to take a company on. We will also listen to what our Members have to say about the types of investment that they might be looking for so that we don’t end up failing to satisfy both investor and investee company. Wherever possible we will always try and ensure that all investments carry a degree of protection for our Members.

Back

Who is behind the selection of companies searching for investment and why would I trust their opinion?

Business propositions are presented from a number of sources including professional firms. The ultimate selection of a company is at the discretion of The GE Club and in all cases we would envisage supplying detailed information about the business, its prospects, and management in order for you to make an educated decision about whether or not to invest. We are simply introducing the opportunity to our Members and it is up to them to make the ultimate decision. In all cases we will give Members access to discuss the investment with the company and its management directly.

Back

As a Member, can you guarantee introductions for funding my business?

There is no guarantee that The GE Club will put forward a business funding proposition to its Members. However provided the business passes the Club’s due diligence process and the Club believes it is a business that its Members would wish to be involved in then it is likely to be put forward.

Back

Where is The GE Club based?

The Clubhouse is based in the heart of the City of London. This is just the base and does not restrict the services and events to London. They extend throughout the UK and abroad.

Back

Can I come into the Clubhouse and meet a GE Club representative in person?

You are always welcome to attend the Clubhouse. It would help us if you telephone or email in advance so that we can make sure that your Club Executive is in.

Back

I don’t live in London – can The GE Club still be of benefit to me?

Regardless of whether or not you are in London you will still enjoy all the benefits of membership. Events are organised throughout the UK and abroad so your physical location should not matter.

Back

I am retired, how can The GE Club benefit me?

The Club can benefit you in exactly the same way as if you were not retired. You may not wish to attend business networking events however we will still invite you to certain events that you have expressed an interest in and you will no doubt still be interested to hear about any tax efficient investments that the Club is involved in. Many of the investment opportunities available are typically exempt from inheritance tax after they have been held for 2 years.

Back

How did you get hold of my details?

We source our contact lists through various marketing agencies and we try to ensure as far as possible that all lists are “opt in”. Occasionally names slip through the net however this is unusual and not intentional. It is in our interest to only be talking to people who are interested in what we have to offer.

Back

Are the Membership Lists available to other Members?

Our membership list is not openly available to other Members directly however if you have a specific request which you would like us to communicate to the other Members then we will be happy to accommodate it on your behalf.

Back

If I no longer want to be a Member how do I leave?

You are able to email or telephone us at any point if you wish to lapse your Membership.
